Kenny Angus Macleod wins Junior October Monthly 2008

The Junior October Montly was fished on the 14th of Octover, after not getting out for a while due to bad weather at the weekends, making the most of a spell of better during the school holidays, Angie Mopp took SYSAC 2 out, on not the best of days, but it was fishable.

Although the fishing was a bit slow most of the day with a lot of undersized fish caught, there were Pollack (Lythe) up to 5 lbs on the hard, and also a number of undersized Lyth and Coalfish.  Angie Mopp also put a line in the water when things were slow over the hard, and he managed a couple of Ballan Wrasse on baits.   With the fishing slow, and weather not great Mopp headed inwards in Loch Roag to Breasclete, where he anchored up, here there were a few fish caught, including 4 Thornback Rays and 4 Lesser Spotted Dogfish, but baits were getting savaged a lot by lots of undersized Whiting.  Last try was the mouth of Loch Carloway where the water was very brackish and only an insize Dab came aboard, there were also a few Mackerel at each of the marks.
