The Puddle Cod
No one was believing the late DC Macdonald (known to us all as Calum Salmon - centre of photo) when he would tell tales of monster Cod that could be caught in Bernera. Then one day he took a young Peter Redshaw (left) and Ewan ET Thompson (right) over to this secret mark of his to fish from a small boat, Peter and ET were amazed when Cod of over 20 lb started coming aboard. What you don't see in this photo, is more large Cod lying at their feet ... The location known as the Puddle in Tobson has produced numerous Cod of over 20 lb and 30 lb, as well as numerous other large fish.
